Alas, the last day of AMP Saskatoon was here.  After three long days of extreme Halo 3 gaming, the remaining six players of the competition were able to prove to everyone, specifically the Pro Team that they were in the top six for a reason.  Their skill and determination had gotten them far into the contest, and that certainly proved that they were the best of the many that had entered into AMP Your Game’s “Search for the Pro” contest.   It was time to get the final showdown on the road.
 

 

    The sun was scorching hot once again; the humidity was at its extreme and the hot air zapped many people’s energy and power.  Yet, it did not impact the final six competitors of AMP Saskatoon’s “Search for the Pro” and the Pro Team.  Everyone was ready to get things underway; all players were pumped up and eager to play some intense Halo 3.  Everyone made their way to the corner of the tent, where the tournament arena was sectioned off and all set for the contestants and Pro Team to play.
 

 

    First to take the hot seat was player K3ygun, whom would be playing his first round of three games with the Alpha XFactor, G-SpOt and The Bo.  On the opposite side was the amateur team, which consisted of The Symphonyy, xAbsense, xKing Bond, MLG Raidenn and II Mae II as coach. Three objective games were selected for the day’s tournament:  Capture the Flag on Narrows, King of the Hill on the Pit and finally, Oddball on Guardian.  And so, the “Search for the Pro” competition was set and on the go.

    Six hours had passed as the last player to play as the Pro Team’s fourth, xKing Bond, finished the last game of the day.  The Pro Team immediately left the tournament arena and headed to the VIP room with each player’s stats on hand.  It was not long before Alpha XFactor, The Bo and G-SpOt decided their top four of AMP Saskatoon.  Once the final four were selected, the Pro Team made their way back to the tournament arena where they announced their four best players.
 

    Ontario gamers, xAbsense, xKing Bond and The Symphonyy and Saskatchewan gamer, MLG Raidenn certainly did not put all of their traveling to waste.  Managing to snatch the final spots for the “Search for the Pro” contest, these four competitors are the last of the Canadian finalists in the running to be the Pro Team’s fourth.

   Indeed, it was another hot and humid day at the Saskatoon Ex.  Colourful rides, food stations galore, and games of every variety surrounded the AMP Your Game National Gaming Tour tent.  The atmosphere was lively and awake at the Saskatoon Ex and with another long day of intense gaming action ahead, the fun was sure to last all day long.    

   It is the second last day of the AMP Your Game Tour and with only sixteen players left in the “Search for the Pro” competition in Saskatoon, the final roster of 36 potential pro gamers is almost completed.  Four more players still wait for their turn to show their true skill and abilities, and the right to be chosen as the most talented and skilled players of AMP Saskatoon.

 

   Without further adieu, the third installment of the AMP Your Game’s “Search for the Pro” contest was underway.  Sixteen of the finest players in Saskatoon had successfully conquered the Free-For-All arena and made their way to the Halo 3 gaming stations to prepare for the long assessment the Pro Team was going to put them through.  After everyone was organized into teams of four, Game 1 finally began.  Time passed by as the Pro Team watched each player individually, evaluating his or her skill and teamwork capability. The last round finally ended and the Pro Team were ready to choose who their final six from Saskatoon would be.
After much evaluation and discussion, the Pro Team came to their decision on the six players they would take to the finals.



   With only one day left to go, the tour is quickly coming to an end.  Four out of six of the remaining players will be selected by the Pro Team to finish the roster of thirty-six potential pro gamers.  Sunday would be the last chance for the six contestants to prove that their dedication and skill is good enough to be in the run for the “Search for the Pro” competition.  

    Of all the cities the AMP Your Game National Gaming Tour has visited, Saskatoon certainly had the hottest weather.   The radiant sun beamed down all day on the visitors of the Saskatoon Exhibition.  Although, it was another humid and hot day, it did not stop anyone from enjoying his or her time at the Ex and the AMP Your Game Tour.  The music from the live DJ sounded through the air as screams and laughter roared outside of the tent walls, adding to the upbeat atmosphere.  Just another exciting day at the Ex!
 

      Noon struck and the AMP Your Game National Gaming Tour was set for its second day as guests arrived to join in on the gaming experience.   Many people swarmed around the Halo 3 gaming stations where most of the final FFA players for the “Search for the Pro” contest were practicing for their last chance to make the top four in Saskatoon.   As the players warmed up their hands on the controllers, many visitors made their way into the tent taking in some free AMP drinks and enthusiastically trying out the variety of games.

    After numerous hours of Halo 3 gaming, it was time for the last challengers of the “Search for the Pro” contest to try their luck and see if their skill could take them farther into the competition.  So, after a few hours of Free-For-All action, the final eight were decided.  After dominating the playing field and shining in the spotlight, eight players of Friday’s FFA came out on top of the rest.  Player MLG Raidenn was able to finish the winners’ bracket final round with 58 kills (K/D Ratio: +20) followed by itroutmasteri with 47 kills.

     Alas, the ninth and final stop of the AMP Your Game National Gaming Tour had finally made its way around the bend and back towards Ontario.  It has been nearly two months since the AMP Tour kicked off their first event in Halifax, Nova Scotia and began its travels across Canada.  Indeed, two months of intense gaming action, non-stop fun and adrenaline rushes.  After successfully completing Vancouver, it was now time to set off for the last stop of the tour – Saskatoon, Saskatchewan!  It was another two-day drive for the AMP crew and Pro Team, but that did not matter.  The drive was full of amazing scenery as the AMP Tour passed through the Rocky Mountains for the second time, so the days passed quickly.  Finally, after two days of driving from Vancouver, everyone arrived safely in Saskatoon.  

    Right away though, it was off to work, work, work!  The AMP crew assembled together and was ready to start setting up the great white tent for the last time this summer.  In several hours, the tent came into view, and surrounding it were roller coasters, candy stands, hundreds of people and entertainment shows.  It was surely one of the liveliest places on the tour.  The doors opened for the first time in Saskatoon on Thursday afternoon, and it was no surprise that the tent drew in more and more people as the day went by.  
 

    The first day of Free-For-All for the “Search for the Pro” contest was a great success.  The top eight players emerged onto the winners’ scene and snatched their spot for Saturday.  Yet, the most surprising part of the day was that many of the players who advanced to the next round were Halo 3 gamers from other cities, who had traveled quite a distance to compete.  xKing Bond as well as friend, xAbsense had made their appearance in Saskatoon “Search for the Pro” competition, driving all the way from Thunder Bay, Ontario.  Also, two more players who obtained one of the eight spots for Thursday’s FFA were Edmonton resident, pphatty and The Symphonyy from Bancroft, Ontario.  In the end, eight players successfully made it in to the second round after a long day of non-stop FFA.
